How to get there?
From San Jose, take the North Pan-American Highway (route #1) all the way to Liberia. Continue in direction to the Daniel Oduber International Airport until you get to the intersection of the route #21, and take the exit that goes north. You will see many signs along the road that will guide you to Papagayo.

Papagayo is a natural scenery of an amazing and unforgettable beauty, that has dry tropical forests, mangrove swamps and marine ecosystems. This place is perfect for having fun and relaxing, where you can find some exclusive five-star hotels along the coast.

Northeast of Costa Rica, in the province of Guanacaste, you will find the Gulf of Papagayo. This territory has many natural interesting sites besides amenities with the highest standards of Costa Rica.

This group of beaches, located in the north section, is part of this area and they are protected by the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC). These beaches are Potrero Grande, Nancite and Naranjo, among others. They are located in the Santa Rosa National Park and are very important sites for the spawning of sea turtles and for land and marine ecosystems.

In the north section there are a couple of attractive spots for surfers that come from all over the world, which are Ollies Point and Roca Bruja.

These spots have a very difficult access but are very famous.

Along the shore theres another section of Papagayo, the most popular one and where the largest number of tourists arrive. This area in particular has undergone an impressive tourism expansion because this beach has had a growing demand of heavenly destinations, summertime weather, impressive and amazing panoramic views, peacefulness and comfort. This is exactly what Papagayo offers to all of its visitors.

These beaches of calm waters are ideal for bathing and relaxing. Some of them are protected from pollution and insecurity, and have been awarded with the Ecological Blue Flag.
It is located 35 km from the Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia, making this beach easy to access.

Accommodations and gastronomy
The town of Papagayo has gone through an important commercial expansion that includes a great variety of places to stay.

There are many all-inclusive hotels with attractions for adults and children, horseback riding, beach sports and live music at night.

There are other luxurious hotels that meet all the requirements of their guests, such as incredible meals, beautiful decoration and excellent customer service, all in front of a turquoise-colored sea.
