Tourism in Beaches of Nosara is oriented to surf, yoga and health
23 from Octuber from 2012
These beaches were awarded with the “Ecological Blue Flag”, which certifies high environmental and safety standards

By: Melissa Solis C.

Adventure lovers who would like to spend a relaxing time in Costa Rica should visit the Beaches of Nosara, which attract surfers, yoga enthusiasts and ecotourists every year.

Nosara has three different beaches: Nosara, Guiones and Pelada, each one with their own charms. These beaches were awarded with the “Ecological Blue Flag”, which certifies high environmental and safety standards.

Nosara Beach is the most secluded with black colored sands. The beach extends to Ostional, known for the massive turtle nesting of ridley and leatherback species.

The waves of Nosara Beach are among the tallest in Costa Rica, so surfing is only for experts. You can also practice other activities like diving, snorkeling, fishing, swimming and kayaking.

Guiones Beach has dense vegetation typical of the dry tropical forest and moderate tourism development. It has coral reefs in both ends plenty of marine life, producing little waves.

Besides surfing, you can practice yoga, fishing, snorkeling, or go horseback riding, birdwatching or diving.

Towards the north of Guiones Beach, over the cliffs, there’s Pelada Beach, protected by a coral reef that’s ideal for bathing in the ocean. In the northern section of the bay you can find tide pools and rocks with caves.

The town of Nosara is located 6 km inland, next to the Nosara River. It has a small population, but has several hotels and cabins, supermarkets, small restaurants, discotheques and medical services. On the way to the beaches there are also a gas station and an ATM machine.

Come to the Beaches of Nosara, where you can have fun and rest as you strengthen your health in middle of nature.
