Don’t miss great adventures during rainy season
29 from May from 2012
A canopy tour, hanging bridges, horseback rides, hikes through trails and fishing are some of the adventure activities you can enjoy during rainy season

By: Melissa Solis C.

During this rainy season you can plan trips with your family and friends and visit some of the eco-tourism destinations of Costa Rica, where you’ll have a wonderful experience.

The flow of the rivers is stronger, the forest becomes more mystic and even the green and dry areas of zones like Monteverde, Tortuguero and the Arenal Volcano are more exuberant and fresher with more charms to discover.

If you have an adventurous spirit, go ahead and leave the city behind where you’ll find peace and tranquility among the endless natural sites the country offers. You can discover fascinating species with a friendly guide, take a canopy tour through the forest or relax in natural hot springs.

Costa Rica is the best place to explore different ecosystems and connect with a peaceful culture.

Fun in the rain

Known as the sanctuary of flora and fauna, the Monteverde Biological Reserve is an exquisite option to have fun during this rainy season.

Here you can spend hours walking along the trails, cross a hanging bridge that provides a unique view of the forest, take a safari ride through the Peñas Blancas River or visit the viewer La Ventana, from where you can see both coasts of Costa Rica.

If you’ve never visited a volcano, this is your chance to visit the Arenal Volcano National Park, one of the most active volcanoes in the world.

The beautiful nightscape of the volcano and activities like rafting, mountain biking, horseback riding, relaxing in hot springs, hiking and fishing invite you to enjoy this natural wonder.

Another popular destination for adventure lovers is the Tortuguero National Park, a very important site for the spawning of green turtles.

The only transportation here is through boats in the channels, where you can appreciate a large variety of wildlife.

Birdwatching, fishing and kayaking are some of the activities you can enjoy in Tortuguero during this season.

There’s no excuse to stay at home in the next few months, you only need two things: time and an adventurous spirit!
